Start with the material you are pumping
Sand, gravel and rock slurry are abrasive. A dredging hose must carry a thick, wear-resistant inner rubber layer that absorbs that abrasion instead of letting it reach the reinforcement.
Match the inner diameter to your pump
- ID 2 to 8 inches for portable and small dredgers
- ID 10 to 16 inches for standard cutter suction dredgers
- ID 18 to 22 inches for large trailing suction hopper dredgers
Check the reinforcement
Steel wire reinforcement carries the working pressure and prevents collapse when the hose is under vacuum. Double steel wire construction is the norm for large diameter sand suction service.
Confirm working pressure and length
Tell us the working pressure, the required length and the end connection. We manufacture flanged dredging hose in lengths up to 12 metres so you can reduce the number of joints in the pipeline.
